Yakima's SpareTime mounts to your vehicle's spare tire and holds two bikes. Anti-sway cradles hold the bikes securely ensuring they can't bump into each other. Plus, this nifty rack can be offset to allow your bikes to be more centered behind the vehicle, and the arms fold down when not in use for easy storage. A locking cable is included, and the universal mounting plate fits most spare tire lug patterns.

At first glance this seems to be a great rack for people with exterior spare tires, Jeeps, Honda CRV, etc. I purchased this rack and installed it on a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with over sized spare tire. The rack comes with mounting plate and 3 different "tongues" to mount the rack. It was installed pretty easy about 20 minutes. First problem was when I wanted to place a second bike on the rack there was no way to do this as the arms are just too short. You might be able to mount 2 road bikes nut 2 mt bikes were impossible. I decided to keep the rack as I really liked it plus I could get to stuff in the back of my Jeep and used it for solo rides, (when my wife comes along I just mount my hitch rack.) About 3 months after I purchased it the plastic started cracking all the way across. I returned it to REI (great return policy) and they replaced it, about 3-4 months later the same crack formed and I called Yakima about the various complaints I had. They pretty much brushed me off, "If you don't like it, don't buy it" was their answer to each of my questions/concerns. I returned it and got my money back. A good product in theory but needs a lot of QC and a lot better customer service.
