NEW OWNERS LEAD NAPLES CYCLERY AND FIT & FUEL
CAFÉ INTO ITS 26TH SEASON!

NAPLES, FLORIDA, August 15th: Naples Cyclery has served SW Florida’s cycling
community for 25 years. On August 15th, a new ownership team will lead the popular bike shop
and café into the next quarter century.

The new owners are both Naples residents. Louie Mele is a passionate cyclist and a 40-year
veteran of the restaurant industry. Mele was a past President of McDonald’s Canada and past
President of McDonald’s Italy. Patrick Wenning is an avid cyclist, who owns a Minnesota-based
technology company, and is chairman of the board at Tradition Capital Bank, with locations in
Minneapolis and Scottsdale, coming soon to Naples. Louie Mele explains, “Our goal is to make
NC the best bike shop in Naples, best in Florida, and then the best in the USA!”

Managing Partners Greg and Sue Pelican have 30+ years of combined experience in the bike
industry. Greg has held Marketing Manager positions for Fuji Film, Kodak, and Trek Florida.
His love for cycling and running has earned him four USA Triathlon National Championships.
Sue Pelican has managed Trek Naples and is an 8X USA Triathlon All American. Greg
explains, “our mission is not only to support and fuel the Naples cycling community but to make
Naples Cyclery a worldwide destination for all things cycling.”

Mark Trudeau founded the famous shop in 1997 and has seen tremendous growth. In 2011 Mark
opened Fit & Fuel, a bicycle-themed café connected to the bike shop. Trudeau said, “I am proud
of what I created, and I am confident the new team will continue to build on this foundation.”
